Forum: netlabels Subject: 2 New Treetrunk Records Releases

1. Fractal Diner represents a collaboration between several artists with the purpose to create a compilation of fractal and generative material. Different methods and programs were used to write the pieces on this album. Some pieces are remixes of material by another artist, and others are original works. Given the diversity of material, we at Treetrunk feel that this album is surprisingly coherent and is definitely great fun to listen to.

From becalmed sinewaves to twinkling bells to unnamed and nameless computer-generated sounds, allow your ear to experience the consistent diversity of Fractal Diner. The results may change the way you think about fractals. . .

2. The Tribe of Astronauts recently contacted Treetrunk Records from the ammonia seas of Jupiter. Forming, on the huge planet, a kind of eternal ocean, the tides of ammonia wash against one another perpetually and savagely.

The Tribe has garnered a field recording from their trip to Jove, and has provided Treetrunk with a copy of this recording. Nearly an hour in length, "Endless Sea" accurately depicts the sounds made by the surface of Jupiter.

It has been suggested that the tidal sound washes in this recording were generated quasi-fractally. The Tribe Of Astronauts has no comment.
